The following story is fact, not fiction! It is my story and it tells of events that happened well over 20 years ago to explain where I´m at today and why I need support in my current efforts. In using names I´ll only use the first name of those people who I believe are still alive while using the full names of those who are dead – this is not some “ploy” to protect the innocent or the guilty but a practical application of common sense because events are still being played out involving those people. I wish to say ahead of time that although I will be using the full name of the deceased in this incident I refuse to refer to him as “the victim” or as our confrontation as a “crime” because I know, in my heart, that what happened was based on mistakes which both he and I made at the time that ended tragically. I have no – nor have I ever had – any animosity toward this man or his family and in the telling of this story I don´t wish to cause them any additional pain or suffering; I´m simply recounting the events as I know them to have happened! |
